This piece didn\u2019t begin with a motif, but with a frame.
A very solid, high-quality frame in white gold that immediately had presence and demanded a clear decision: What is allowed to occupy this space?<\/p>\n

The choice fell on the amaryllis.<\/p>\n

This plant has accompanied me for many years, especially in the winter months. It grows from an unassuming bulb, at first quietly and reservedly. Then leaf by leaf appears, until a powerful, upright stem develops that grows almost tower-like into the air. At its tip, everything gathers in a plump bud, from which an enormous abundance of blossoms finally unfolds. Often in an intense red that radiates strength, presence, and determination. <\/p>\n

I\u2019m interested in this process of becoming. Not the single moment of bloom, but the path to it. The gathering of energy, the straightening up, the inner knowing that everything is already there, even if it isn\u2019t visible yet. <\/p>\n

As is usual in my work, the artistic process began with sketches and studies. In them, I felt my way toward movement, form, and tension. From that, the painting developed in oil. I worked with rich material, with density and gestural movement. The brushstrokes are intentionally visible. They carry the dynamics of growth while also holding a clear center. <\/p>\n

The lines laid over the painting are an essential element of my visual language. They bring structure, density, and an additional layer to the work. In this piece, individual lines were embroidered with high-quality merino wool. This decision adds time, physicality, and a tangible material depth to the work. <\/p>\n

Throughout the entire process, I was certain that this piece should be shown in the Baden Art Association\u2019s annual members\u2019 exhibition. Shortly before submission, doubts arose. The painting felt very present, very luminous, very visible. Who am I to show myself like this? What will the others<\/em> think of me then? For a moment, the question arose whether this openness was too much. At first I wanted to submit the painting without the frame, but when it stood there so \u201cnaked,\u201d I knew: No. I want to show the painting like this. With a frame. Loud. Strong. Sincere and BOLD! <\/p>\n

But that is exactly where the attitude of this work lies.<\/h3>\n

I Recognize Myself<\/em> stands for allowing your own presence. For the awareness that growth doesn\u2019t have to be quiet or reserved to be true. That when we feel BOLD, we\u2019re allowed to show up BOLD too. My grandfather always used to say: \u201cSome people know me, and the others can know me.\u201d I\u2019d like to add: \u201cI know myself, and others follow the image I show them of me.\u201d Like an amaryllis, this painting unfolds from inner strength. It takes up space without justifying itself.<\/p>\n

The work invites you to find yourself in this process. Not as a finished version, but as a person in development. As someone who recognizes themselves again and again, straightens up, and becomes visible. <\/p>\n

You can pick up your chosen piece in person at my studio in Karlsruhe. Alternatively, I can send it to you professionally and securely packaged (free within Germany and for purchases of EUR 1,000 or more). For larger or international shipments, I\u2019ll be happy to provide exact prices on request. <\/p>\n

What happens if the artwork arrives damaged?<\/strong>
I carefully pack each piece in a sturdy wooden crate. If something does arrive damaged, I\u2019ll immediately offer a replacement or a refund\u2014simple and personal. <\/p>\n

Can I return the piece if I don\u2019t like it?<\/strong>
Yes. You can return the piece within 14 days if it doesn\u2019t meet your expectations. I understand that art is very personal. However, I ask that you cover the shipping and return costs. <\/p>\n

How long does shipping take?<\/strong>
Within Germany, delivery takes approx. 5\u20138 business days. You\u2019ll receive a tracking number so you can follow your artwork until it arrives. <\/p>\n
