This painting didn’t come from a plan. It evolved—layer by layer, guided by something larger than a sketch. It started with dark, earthy tones, almost somber. And yet, it had a diversity that immediately calmed me. I let myself engage with the painting—and it guided me.

On another day, colors were added that almost glow. Ochre in its purest form—earthy, yet clear and powerful at the same time. And then that moment when the painting started talking to me. Not loudly. But firmly. I was like in a trance—and at the same time, completely present.

What reveals itself is not a scene, but a state: self-confidence. A clear stance. A kind of inner dialogue. Two centers face each other—almost like artichoke blossoms. One retreats, the other steps forward, proud and still. It’s not about being seen—it’s about recognizing yourself.

Two levels live in this work: the calm and grounding of the first layers and the self-assured presence of the color contrasts above them.

The title is defiant. This painting surprised me so much. It screamed at me.
How could I not see: Yes, you are an angel!
In this way, the painting is a very intimate reminder of our being. I imagine it in the bedroom or in a favorite place. Somewhere where we recharge our batteries and breathe a sigh of relief.

The painting reminds us that we don’t have to explain everything.
That clarity is sometimes just there.
And that deep down, we know exactly who we are.

Do not doubt.
