See Me Dancing in the Sand (Tiny Dancer)
2024 – Series “Little Wonders” (about the series)
80 x 120 x 5 cm
Oil, acrylic, and sand on canvas
On the beach in Canada, I found it – a feather, dancing on the waves.
It drifted, rose and fell, floating between water and wind. I stopped and watched. And suddenly I saw: there were more. Small, inconspicuous wonders moving to the rhythm of the waves.
I took some with me.
From this moment, See Me Dancing in the Sand (Tiny Dancer) was born – an artwork that aims to preserve the lightness of that moment.
The memory of childhood collecting: stones, shells, feathers.
These seemingly worthless treasures that evoke moments of happiness in us and carry stories.
Like the entire Little Wonders series, See Me Dancing in the Sand (Tiny Dancer) also showcases these small wonders of life.
The artwork reminds us that – when the world gets loud, when stimuli overwhelm us, and life seems too much – we can find an anchor.
A focus.
Something small that brings us back.
See Me Dancing in the Sand (Tiny Dancer) is rendered in bolder, brighter colors than other works in the series. Intense reds and oranges meet cooler, calming nuances.
The surface is tangibly structured by incorporated sand – another reminder of the moment of inspiration on the beach. The materiality enhances grounding, while the feathers remain in motion.
They seem to burn and cool at the same time.
Like an inner fire that doesn’t destroy, but warms.
Like a dance between calm and chaos.
This tension is always revealed in my vibrant and layered works:
between joy and fear, between growth and blockage.
Here too. The composition oscillates between dynamic gesture and quiet moments of pause.
See Me Dancing in the Sand is an invitation:
Remember your own little wonder.
Remember collecting.
Remember marveling.
Remember dancing in between.

Art is more than a decorative picture on the wall.
Art is a luxury you’re allowed to treat yourself to, because it makes something resonate within you.
Art is individual—and the opposite of mass-produced goods and fast-moving fashion.
A work of art stays with you (and sometimes for generations) and becomes part of your life and all the stories within it.
My paintings are resources in which you can recognize yourself.
They are my personal engagement with the challenges and beauty of life.
I invite you to find your own resource in the depths of the layers and the richness of the colors—for strength, focus, or calm in your own life. And to give your home a truly personal touch with my art, and tell your own story through it.
