I rely on you

You stand before “I rely on you” and immediately feel that quiet, earthy calm emanating from life’s natural rhythm. The work embodies the cycle that always returns. Germinating, growing, budding, blooming, and retreating so that something new can emerge. A process that never imposes itself and, precisely because of that, feels reliable. The winter creation period is reflected in the cool, clear impressions. The surface resembles frozen leaves and dry structures, like those found on still winter mornings. It is a painting that captures the moment of pause before the next step of growth begins. A feeling of trust emerges. Not as a grand gesture, but as a quiet knowing that the cycle sustains and repeats itself.
I trust that after winter’s retreat, spring will come. This thought accompanies you as you view this work. The idea for the painting arose on a Sunday morning when the world was still and breath drew white clouds. The ground hard frozen, hoarfrost on everything that remained from last year. This phase, in which everything withdraws, reveals a special beauty: clear lines, muted colors, forms resting in the frost. The frozen peony blossoms became a metaphor. Brown, withered, rigid, and yet holding the memory of summer within them. They remind us that even in times of standstill, the next cycle is being prepared. Whoever views this painting takes with them an attitude of trust: trust in the rhythm of nature, but also in their own. That rest is not a break, but part of the journey. That everything has its moment and new growth emerges from every retreat.
The form reveals itself in petals expanding from a resting center. This creates a feeling of opening and blossoming, gently guiding the gaze outwards. In everyday life, this form reminds us that development often begins from within and unfolds step by step. The color is earthy, stony, and cool. This combination creates calm, clarity, and a sense of stability. In daily life, this color scheme acts like a silent anchor, strengthening serenity and trust in one’s own rhythm. The process is created in oil paints, layer by layer, with pauses for drying and waiting. My message to you: Trust in the future takes time and develops at its own pace.
This work is intended for people who do not fear retreat, but see it as a valuable part of their lives. For those who seek quiet, appreciate stillness, and find themselves again within it. While painting, this picture was like a friendly dialogue for me. I exchanged with it, layer by layer, and it became a kind of companion that showed me how reliable the inner rhythm can be.
This painting aims to instill trust. Trust in one’s own cycle, in the value of rest, and in the certainty that every retreat is a preparatory step. A silent promise that sustains in everyday life.
